- I have limited experience with Windows 95 and communications, but I can think
- of two possibilities: the modem is engaging in an extended effort to retrain,
- or Win95 is showing you how poorly it performs multitasking.

- If the problem is a retrain, then it may be the result of minor disagreements
- between your modem and the one on the other end. Interoperability between
- manufacturers, regrettably, isn't ideal yet.
